Beauty Supply Make-up...REALLY!

Hello Everyone,

Well...Let me first start off by saying....WHEW what I busy weekend last week!

I had the Pleasure of working 2 ATL events last weekend, POWERTHESHOOT with Celebrity Photographers, Derek Blanks & Drexina Nelson. (more one that later) and Kiss New York event with Celebrity Make-up Artist Danessa Myricks. I am a Make-up Artist that "Prides" herself in trying lots and lots of different make-up, 1 reason is to stay current with make-up trends & 2, to CAUSE I LOVE MAKE-UP! lol... well let me tell you, this was my first time working with Kiss New York and I really didn't know what to expect form the make-up line due to the fact that is was REALLY inexpensive        ( $1.99 to $9.99 with most of the products being around lower range) So lets just say....I wasn't expecting much from the products! lol!

I must say that I was surprised. In a good way! the pigment of the mineral eye shadows were Fantastic for the price, the 24hr Luxury Eyeliner, AWESOME, the Glossy Lip Pencil, Great! the 2n1 eyeshadow pencil...also GREAT! 

So here are a list of the products I used at the event and would  recommend trying:

24 hour luxury eyeliner

lash & brow wonderlift

glossy lip pencil

mineral eyeshadow quad

i*envy premium human hair lashes

I would recommend using a eyeshadow base before applying the mineral eyeshadow & I would use DUO eyelash glue instead of the Kiss 16 hour eyelash glue. I personally felt that the glue was to runny and a bit messy at times.

What I didn't get a chance to try is their Foundations. I am tempted to purchase some for my personal use....I think I will! ( I will give you my opinion after I try them)

For all my Professional MUA's...I am by no means saying to go out and stock your professional kit with beauty supply make-up, but if you get in a pickle and need to get something in a hurry...Kiss is a good alternative! 

For my Clients, Save yourself some money and stay out of the MAC stores and get you some Kiss New York! Yall don't know what you're doing anyway so save yourselves some money! lol

You can purchase all of the Kiss New York products at your local beauty supply stores. 

Well...go out and buy some kiss makeup and give me your opinion!

Can you Really Be a" Duo" in the Industry? Hair & Mak-up

My, Name is Nina Akpan. I am I Freelance Makeup & Hair Artist. I have been getting inquiries from Agencies wanting me to sign with them, but when I tell them I am a Hair & Make-up Artist OR Make-up and Hair Artist, They tell me to Pick one and that I CAN'T truly be passionate about BOTH!
REALLY........?! ( people who know me, can hear me saying it.Lol)

Of course I haven't signed with anyone yet because I feel as a True Artist who has been in the industry for over 18 years, you really can be passionate about more than one thing.
